Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities

•    Work closely with process molding team and product development team in designing, developing and sourcing molds, tooling and process used in the company.
•    Ability to establish effective molds design for PC, PVC and Silicone.
•    Ensure that all aspects of process and tooling operation meet written procedures and specified regulations.
•    Troubleshoot molding problems and establish permanent solutions to improve on process and tooling related issues.
•    Participate in cross functional activities for new projects as well as to coordinate on project transfer.
•    Coordinate with support department such as Quality Assurance.
•    Writing validation protocols, execute process validations, analyze and troubleshoot to optimize tooling and process performance. 
•    Write process and tooling related procedures and work instruction.
•    Actively participate in the development and training of Engineering Technicians on tooling and process.           
•    Provide technical direction to molding tooling personnel in term of basic mold maintenance, troubleshooting and handling.
•    Evaluate the in-process effectiveness of all tooling and make recommendations to improve tooling and fixture design capabilities.
•    Prepare a comprehensive report on tooling activity and prepare tooling preventive maintenance schedule
•    Liaise with external tool makers for major mold maintenance, mold repairs and troubleshooting. Perform molds acceptance with supplier in accordance to product requirement.
•    Translate product specification into tooling design dimension. Decide correct tooling structure and tooling type related to molding activities.
•    Review all tooling designs and evaluate new tooling sources.
•    Ability to establish and optimize process parameters for PVC molding.
•    Achieve overall In-Process Molding Quality Target as set by Management.
•    Ensure that all aspects of an operation or process meet written procedures and specified regulations.
•    Optimize molding cycle time, Parameter setting and Operation Standard.
•    Assume responsibility for monitoring and ongoing performance of the processes.
•    Writing validation protocols, execute process validations, analyze and troubleshoot to optimize process. 
•    Develop process parameters for new products.
•    Perform any other relevant and related responsibilities that may be assign from time to time as required by superior.    

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering / Polymer Engineering / Plastic Technology or Tool and Die Making.
•    Minimum 5 years working experience in manufacturing environment.
•    At least 5 years’ experience in a plastic moulding manufacturing.
•    Tooling development and validation experience.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Good interpersonal and communication skill. Must be able to communicate fluently (written and verbal) in English and Malay Language. 
•    Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and have strong mathematical skills.
•    Able to work independently with strong leadership quality.
•    Good computer skills to work with CAD/CAM technology, CNC machine tools and Computerised measuring equipment.
•    Versatile in running Extrusion Blow Moulding Machine (Bekum), Injection Molding Machine and Vertical Injection Moulding.
•    Good knowledge and experience in handling materials such as PVC, PC and Silicone.
•    Good knowledge and skills in tooling activities involving soft PVC, rigid PVC, hot/cold runner system tooling, tool maintenance, over molding and tooling.
•    Exposed to Quality Engineering tools and techniques, e.g. SPC and Minitab.
•    Strong knowledge in Process Validation planning and principles.
