Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities


  • Communicate the vision and strategy for the team and create a roadmap to achieve these.
  • Manage performance of the team to ensure that employees achieve their full potential
  • Work with HR to attract top talent into the team
  • Develop and engage the team to ensure the employees are fully energised and focussed to achieve their own and company goals. 
  • Ensure that new products and processes are transferred to manufacturing in an efficient and effective manner, ensuring high standards in design for manufacturing 
  • Provide a unified and holistic approach towards building an effective and efficient engineering program and team.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects ensuring effective allocation of resources and monitoring the progress.
  • Manage the engineering infrastructure to support concepts, designs, test of concepts, tracking, training and development of technical support for maintenance and engineering.
  • Create, monitor, update, and maintain the relevant operational & project-specific budgets.
  • Write project proposals, capital justifications, specifications and operating procedures in support of management and technical leadership responsibilities. 
  • Interface with planning for the development and maintenance of relevant project timelines.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure updated requirements and target in production.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining systems that  optimize production,  for example SPC and systematic problem solving
  • Lead the optimization of production processes utilizing a continuous Improvement methodology.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by demonstrating sustainable improvement in quality and costs.
  • Collaborate with materials management and R&D to select technology and suppliers for the overall costs, improve quality, reliability and timeliness of deliveries
  • Develop a vendor library data base for future automation development
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessitated by business conditions or changes.


Education / Experience Requirements

•    Minimum Bachelor in Science or Engineering, with a background in medical devices, manufacturing management and project management.
•    Experiences in Medical Device sourcing / manufacturing
•    A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the medical device industry, with at least another five years in a senior management position in Engineering function 
•    Experience in Quality and Supplier Engineering as well as Manufacturing processes (Lean Manufacturing, NPI, etc) preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of sterile production-related Validation concepts, ranging from facility, utility & equipment qualifications through Process & Packaging Validation
  • Aware of global technology developments and ensures most effective technologies are implemented on site.
  • Engineering intelligence and network support
  • Broad knowledge of cGMP; full understanding and comprehension of the regulations pertaining to medical devices
  • Broad connection with medical devices manufacturing industry 
  • Knowledge in injection and extrusion blow moulding 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent verbal, written & presentation communication skills
  • Willing to travel on occasions (Travel 10%)
