Position Summary

The Molding Process Team Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership and support for molding operations to ensure safe, stable, and efficient manufacturing performance. The role focuses on process optimization, troubleshooting, quality improvement, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production, quality, and business objectives.

Principal Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize molding processes to achieve quality, productivity, and efficiency targets.
• Provide technical leadership and rapid troubleshooting support for process, mold, machine, and material-related issues.
• Drive reduction of downtime, scrap, defects, and process variation through data-driven improvements.
• Lead SPC monitoring, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support and execute Engineering Studies (ES), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, and manufacturing transfer activities.
• Coach and develop molding technicians to strengthen technical competency and problem-solving capabilities.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tooling teams to ensure operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and manufacturing excellence.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Additional certifications in Scientific Systematic Molding, Injection Molding, LSR Molding, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, Process Validation, or Quality Management Systems are highly preferred.
• Formal training in Scientific Molding methodologies, including process development, process window studies, DOE (Design of Experiments), and validation techniques, is an added advantage
• Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Injection Molding and/or Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) molding manufacturing.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a Team Lead, Senior Technician, Process Engineer, or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in process troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in Engineering Studies (ES), Operational Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ), and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Strong expertise in Injection Molding and/or LSR Molding processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Scientific Systematic Molding methodologies.
• Strong understanding of mold design, machine operation, tooling, and material behavior.
• Proficient in:
   • SPC and Process Capability Analysis (Cp/Cpk)
   • Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D, Fishbone, and 5-Why
   • CAPA Management
   • OEE Improvement
   • Process Validation (ES, OQ, PQ)
   • DOE (Design of Experiments)
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
• NPI and Process Transfer Activities
• Strong data analysis and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to train and mentor teams in Lean Six Sigma tools, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
