Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities

•    Ensure safety is always #1 and equipment is safe to be in operation 
•    Lead, develop and train and perform assessment for Engineering technicians in execution of daily tasks, work schedule, maintenance and in continuous improvement for machinery / equipment to achieve the business objectives of plant management.
•    Perform problem solving to develop corrective actions that initiate continuous improvement for machinery / equipment and process if necessary
•    Prepare and maintain machine / equipment description and forecast required repair and provide comprehensive report on maintenance activity, cost reduction plan, quality improvements.
•    Monitoring and control the machine / equipment spare parts performance and purchase to ensure the effectiveness and availability of the component.
•    Identify, Plan, Execute & Participate in development of machine / equipment procedures and instruction.
•    Ensure that all aspects of Engineering Dept. responsibilities meet written procedures and specified regulations.
•    Participate in cross functional activities for new projects as well as to coordinate on project transfer.
•    Responsible for installation of commissioning of new machine and equipment.
•    Plan and maintain the process documents as per ISO requirements.
•    To perform any other duties as and when directed by the management
•    Communicate issues affecting production efficiency and unplanned DT to manager
•    Manage engineering technicians work shift schedules, plan for required OT and make necessary decisions on personnel to ensure production efficiency.
•    Assist the HOD/Engineer in managing the equipment’s tasks; establish specific maintenance procedures, inspection schedules and maintenance work schedules.
•    Ensuring effective and efficient technical support arrangements are in place to deal with any planned, unplanned it emergency work.
•    Work with QA, Facilities and Production teams to reply NCR on equipment, electrical or facilities related issues. Provide and implementation of correction and preventive actions to close the related NCR.
•    Responsible to organize and implement a comprehensive job to ensure that all machineries and electrical system are well maintained at all times.
•    Equipment safety and 6S is always maintained at the highest standards
•    Carry out other objectives as determined by Engineering Manager.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Degree in Mechatronic/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering OR
•    Diploma/SPM/SPVM/Certificate with 10 years working experience in manufacturing environment, preferably possess Competent Chargeman Certificate Level ‘B0/A0/A1/A4’ issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga or Jabatan Bekalan Elektrik.
•    Degree Level: minimum 5 years working experience in manufacturing environment.
•    Diploma Level: minimum 10 years working experience in manufacturing environment
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to communicate fluently (written and verbal) in English and Malay
•    Creative and progressive thinking is required to be a competent equipment engineer.
•    Good communication skills enable the engineer to exchange machinery ideas with managers
•    Able to carry out troubleshooting for machineries, equipment, mechanical, PLC, Robot and electrical failures and provide corrective actions.
•    Possess strong trouble shooting and analytical skills and able to work independently 
•    Effectively communicate and develop engineering technicians. Assess engineering technician skills, develop training plans and communicate personnel issues to manager.
