Position Summary

This role of this person will be based in the Kamunting facility, Malaysia, reporting directly to the Global Supplier Development Engineering Lead. 

•    Develop, manage and execute key strategic activities related to Supplier Development.
•    Work with selected suppliers to achieve continuous improvement objectives that deliver improved quality performance, reduced inspection levels, cost efficiencies or a combination of these for Teleflex and enhances the Supplier/Customer partnership. 
•    Support internal customers and external suppliers in relation to supplier quality issues; provide technical support for activities related to supplier quality system assessment and supplier performance evaluation and supplier risk mitigation for specifically identified suppliers.
•    Collaborate with the Global Procurement, and Global Supplier Quality leadership to understand the capabilities and competencies of suppliers to meet our requirements and agree appropriate strategies for identified key suppliers.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Collaborate with Global Procurement to participate in supplier business reviews as required and build relationships with suppliers.
•    Responsible for accuracy and integrity of supplier development data and communication of activities and progress of projects.
•    Provide ongoing support to Global Procurement in implementing key initiatives related to agreed Supplier Development projects.
•    Execute projects to ensure Global Supplier Quality strategic initiatives are met.
•    Liaising with the Manufacturing and Quality groups, in assessing and addressing material/product quality issues with assigned suppliers.
•    Provide other departmental support requested by immediate Manager.
•    Quality System compliance to ISO9001, ISO13485, Medical Devices Directive and 21CFR820
•    Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex Code of Conduct, all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a scientific/engineering/technical field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years working within a manufacturing environment, specifically medical device, pharmaceutical aviation, aerospace or automotive industry.
•    Supplier Quality/Engineering experience. 
•    Excellent knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
•    Ability to assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
•    Good working knowledge of FMEA, Validation Programs and SPC processes in a highly regulated environment.
•    Team player with effective communication / listening skills
•    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted during performing assigned duties.
•    Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.
•    Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to meet established timeframes
•    Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities. 
•    “Hands On” attitude and willingness to engage all levels of the organization.
