Position Summary

•    Primary contact to a Global Procurement Buyer, Strategic Sourcing, Site Buyers, and Site Quality to perform supplier quality functions and activities for the purchase of Commodities, Purchased Finished Goods (PFG’s), and Critical Services
•    Lead large scale supplier quality improvement projects
•    Assist with the development of suppliers to provide reliable, trusting, and productive relationships
•    Primary contact to an assigned BU and/or manufacturing site for the resolution of supplier issues, new projects, and new acquisitions
•    To serve as a subject matter expert in the area of Purchasing Controls 
•    Write, coordinate, track and review supplier quality agreements
•    Mentor co-workers
•    Perform supplier facility compliance audits
•    Develop strong partnering relationships with Global Procurement, Supply Chain, QA/RA, Design, and Manufacturing groups

Principal Responsibilities

1.    Coordinate with Global Procurement Buyers, Strategic Sourcing, Site Buyers, and Site Quality the appropriate supplier quality support for the purchase of Commodities, PFG’s, and Critical Services.
2.    Perform supplier compliance and qualification functions and activities for prospective new commodity, PFG, and critical service suppliers. 
3.    Work with Global Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Site Buyers, and Site Quality on the development of key and critical suppliers to improve supplier’s performance, quality, cost, responsiveness, and technology.
4.    Perform supplier development activities with suppliers of defective materials including developing and executing Supplier Quality Plans, conducting “For-Cause” Audits, SCAR follow-up, coordinating Business Reviews, and implementing Six-Sigma and Continuous Improvement methods and techniques.
5.    Implement quality improvement program related to suppliers of materials, products, or critical services in development or manufacturing.
6.    Resolve ineffective supplier corrective action plans with suppliers.
7.    Coordinate supplier change requests.
8.    Develop and implement appropriate strategies to support the change request.   
9.    Analyze and identify trends from quality data and develop proactive measures with supplier in support of continuous improvement.    
10.    Lead supplier related activities in support of business objectives.  
11.    Assist the Business Units with the acquisition of new companies and the integration of their suppliers into the Teleflex Quality System.  
12.    Provide Lead Auditor accountability within the audit program.  
13.    To serve as subject matter expert in the area of problem solving methodologies
14.    Provide training to different levels of the organization on problem solving methodologies/root cause analysis and to develop investigation skills.
15.    Provide other departmental support requested by immediate supervisor.
16.    Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex Code of Conduct, all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards.
17.    Support Supplier Performance Monitoring program

Education / Experience Requirements

1.    Four-year college degree with scientific/technical discipline
2.    Prefer 10-15 years of experience working within an FDA regulated industries.
3.    Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis.
4.    Subject Matter Expert in Purchasing Controls.
5.    Advanced statistical techniques knowledge.
6.    Minimum 5 years of Lead Auditor experience.
7.    Advanced knowledge of ISO 13485 & QSR 21 CFR Part 820
8.    3rd party auditor/engineering certification highly desired
9.    Process molding expertise is highly desirable
