Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities

1.    As one of the key members in Kamunting Leadership Team to drive the 3 years Site Transformation Roadmap Strategy.
2.    Drive the ongoing development and advancement of Lean Manufacturing culture, principles and practices across the plant including SOS (Site Operating System), ILMS (Integrated Lean Management System) and OPR (Operational Performance Rate).
3.    As change agent to drive Cost Improvement Programs (CIPs) as per planned in project planning and execution stage to meet the timeline and savings target of Site.
4.    Lead and facilitate plant Lean / IE / Six Sigma initiatives using proven industry methods and tools such as TPM, TWI, SPC, Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, DMAIC, Visual Management and 6S with plant employees.
5.    Provide engineering expertise to identify and lead value improvement and waste elimination projects through Gemba (EHS, 6S & CI) for the manufacturing and overhead areas that drive plant performance improvements.
6.    Work with matrix organization stakeholders, develop proposals for CI programs and identify key opportunities for continuous improvement across multiple value streams and departments, focusing on improving our People Safety, Quality, Service and Value performance.
7.    Work in collaboration with key stakeholders such as Engineering, Quality and Operations to overcome any barriers or obstacles to success.
8.    Deliver and Facilitate CI training (Lean / Six Sigma etc.) as required. Act as a role model, mentor and coach to others with respect to Continuous Improvement.
9.    Plan work schedules, Leader Standard work including Gemba walk, attend management meetings, and prepare monthly reports as required, ensuring effective communication of ideas, information, and issues to appropriate stakeholders.
10.    Monitor and control programs, identify issues and ensure they are resolved.
11.    Benchmark APAC sites good practices learning and sharing for replicate implementation.
12.    Ensure the implementation and maintenance within the workplace of an effective management for occupational safety and health consistent with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and other legislative requirements.
13.    Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Management.

 

Education / Experience Requirements

Qualification       :            
A minimum of Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree or equivalent. 
Thorough knowledge of Lean principles with strong analytical and problem - solving skills.
Working knowledge of highly regulated manufacturing with control / cleanroom environment.
Requires strong communications skills to understand and explain complex engineering problems to non-engineering personnel.
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skill, multiple tasking, planning, and organizing, good judgment, knowledge transfer, work independently as team player and leader. 
Strong interpersonal and communication skill. Must be able to communicate fluently (written and verbal) in English and Malay Language. 
Strong organizational leadership, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Strong technical, management judgment, and team orientation.
Lean Six Sigma and Project Management related certification is advantage.
Able to work independently with strong leadership ability.


Experience :
A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in a Lean or Continuous 
Improvement role in a manufacturing environment with minimum 5+ years in managing people and lean projects. 
Good Track record of leading and delivering improvement projects in a team and manufacturing environment as plant Lean / CI leader. 
Lean Six Sigma experience and certifications along with large-scale automation experience is a plus. (Lean Expert or Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or above).
