Position Summary

•    Primary contact to a Global Procurement Buyer, Strategic Sourcing, Site Buyers, and Site Quality to perform supplier quality functions and activities for the purchase of Commodities, Purchased Finished Goods (PFG’s), and Critical Services to Kamunting.
•    Lead large scale supplier quality improvement/development projects
•    Assist with the development of suppliers to provide reliable, trusting, and productive relationships
•    Primary contact to an assigned BU and/or manufacturing site for the resolution of supplier issues, new projects, and new acquisitions
•    To serve as a subject matter expert in the area of Supplier Quality Management 
•    Write, coordinate, track and review supplier quality agreements
•    Perform supplier facility compliance audits.
•    Develop strong partnering relationships with Global Procurement, Supply Chain, QA/RA, Design, and Manufacturing groups
 

Principal Responsibilities

1.    Perform supplier compliance and qualification functions and activities for prospective new commodity, PFG, and critical service suppliers. 
2.    Work with Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Site Buyers, and Site Quality on the development of key and critical suppliers to improve supplier’s performance, quality, cost, responsiveness, and technology.
3.    Perform supplier development activities with suppliers of defective materials including developing and executing Supplier Quality Plans, conducting “For-Cause” Audits, SCAR follow-up, coordinating Business Reviews, and implementing Six-Sigma and Continuous Improvement methods and techniques.
4.    Implement quality improvement issues related to suppliers of materials, products, or critical services in development or manufacturing.
5.    Resolve ineffective supplier corrective action plans with suppliers.
6.    Coordinate suppliers change requests. 
7.    Analyze and identify trends from quality data and develop proactive measures with supplier in support of continuous improvement and supplier develoment.    
8.    Lead supplier related activities in support of business objectives.  
9.    Provide Lead Auditor accountability within the audit program.  
10.    Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex Code of Conduct, all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standard.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

1.    Bachelors degree with scientific/technical discipline/Material Science
2.    Prefer 8-12 years of experience working within regulated industries. Process Engineering experience is highly desirable for the role.
3.    Plastic Injection Molding Experience highly desirable.
4.    Problem solving and root cause analysis.
5.    statistical techniques knowledge.
6.     knowledge of ISO 13485 & QSR 21 CFR Part 820
7.    3rd party auditor/engineering certification highly desired

3.    Experience with Visio, Access, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab applications
