Position Summary

Project Quantum is a global strategic initiative within Teleflex. The key objectives of this project includes designing and deploying global product lifecycle management processes and introduce a master data management system for management of product related data for consistency and accuracy.

As Project Manager you will have responsibility for full project delivery (part of the overall Quantum portfolio), leading the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope, on a range of cross-functional or global projects. You will be required to work on projects of diverse scope, and demonstrate problem solving ability where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. You will be required to demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining and implementing solutions. The role will oversee all aspects of assigned projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare project status reports for senior leadership and maintain ongoing engagement with key project stakeholders. You will be required to lead and direct the work of project team members and exercise a wide degree of creativity and latitude to address and resolve project issues.
 

Principal Responsibilities

•    Coordinate project resources for the flawless execution of projects, work with functional managers to secure project resources
•    The PM is required to develop and work closely with cross-functional project teams to develop, maintain and manage effective execution of project plans, schedules and actions.
•    Lead the team in the definition of project scope and objectives and drafting of project charter, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
•    Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget following Project Management best practice
•    Create and manage project activities through Planview - online project management software
•    Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs through appropriate tools and channels
•    Measure project performance and project risks using appropriate tools and techniques
•    Establish project governance process in line with global governance practices, report and escalate to management as required
•    Establish and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders
•    Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
•    Delegate project tasks as appropriate to project coordinator based their strengths, skill sets and experience levels
•    Act as the main point of contact for all project related communications through all levels of the organization
•    Responsible for the gathering of key lessons learned and sharing these to build on project execution knowledge in the organization
•    Participate in the Project Manager Community of Practice (PMCOP) to learn and understand best practices, templates etc.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

Essential Skills / Experience:
•    Strong leadership ability to direct project execution
•    Experience with all project admin, PMO documentation, reporting structures and requirements.
•    Strong knowledge of project management disciplines and project team dynamics
•    Demonstrated ability to influence others to desired outcomes.
•    Uses professional concepts to resolve issues with medium complexity in effective ways.
•    Strong project management and organizational change management skills
•    Ability to accurately scope projects and consider the full impact of decisions and actions taken
•    Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
•    Effective communicator of issues, of facts and ideas/solutions to senior members of the organization
•    Strong problem solving and analytical skills, developing creative solutions and meeting project objectives
•    Strong facilitation skills across multiple business disciplines, organization levels and locations
•    Ability to manage and motivate a team to achieve the objectives of the project.


Education / Qualifications:
•    5 years related experience with a Bachelors degree OR 3 years related experience with a Masters degree
•    Project Management qualification required - Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred
•    MS Project knowledge required
•    3+ years experience in the Medical device industry or other highly-regulated industry preferred
•    Knowledge of Design Control, Change Control, Product Life Cycle Management, Sustaining Changes and manufacturing transfers, including experience of cost savings and product / process improvement and advantage.
•    Effective collaboration with cross-functional Business Units,
•    Experience managing cross functional teams,
•    Experience with Organisational Change Management (OCM) would be advantageous,
