Position Summary

The incumbent aligns the facility with the financial growth for Teleflex Medical through successful implementation and maintenance of cost center driven production and assembly processes, materials         management processes, manufacturing planning processes and quality and clinical standards. The incumbent implements facility maintenance and capital equipment replacement schedules to ensure maximum up time of manufacturing equipment and full compliance with the company’s products capacity demands. The incumbent leads a team of manufacturing professionals and does have a cost centre budget responsibility for the Malaysian Operations.

Principal Responsibilities

1.    Leads Kamunting Manufacturing with a team of manufacturing and operations professionals through materials management, planning, cost accounting, timely production and delivery of the organization’s products.
2.    Ensures that agreed upon, complete and up to date production and manufacturing processes are implemented in Kamunting facility.
3.    Ensures that manufactured products fully meet engineering, quality assurance, clinical and regulatory affairs standards and requirements.
4.    Ensures audit schedules are in place for the Kamunting  facility to guarantee continuous and full compliance with above mentioned standards and requirements in product manufacturing and to avoid product back log as a result of non compliance.
5.    Reports to Head of Manufacturing,APAC, in a set frequency, about achieved levels of raw materials, work in progress, product control, finished goods and product demand, against budget targets and parameters ,about optimum stock levels, back log levels, set productivity standards and working capital reduction objectives..
6.    Ensures that the objectives, set out in the company’s balance score cards are fully met.
7.    Manages the cost center budget for the Kamunting facility against set targets and parameters.
8.    Ensures the alignment of all functions in the facility to meet SBU’s (strategic business unit) customer products demands in quality and quantity and in its timely readiness for shipment.
9.    Participates in the development of new products in close cooperation with the sales and marketing organization and reviews product design studies against available production methods in the facility.
10.    The incumbent is the legal representative in the country and as such is also involved in dealings with unions and works councils in the facility. The incumbent ensures that the facility fully comply with country wide legislation.
11.    To ensure the implementation and maintenance, within the facility, of an effective management for occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and other legislative requirements.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

Qualification:    
Possess Business Economics and/ or Mechanical Engineering education in Degree Level or equivalent.
Focus on continuous improvement to achieve the corporation’s commitment for lean operations and management structures.
Strong communication skills, business acumen, well developed analytical skills and a drive to take initiative and being decisive.

Experience:    
At least 5 years’ experience in similar or comparable role preferably in a US based company.
Requires elements of hands-on mentality and the willingness to deal with all aspects including   
running a day to day operation with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
