Position Summary
The Finance Director will serve as key member in site leadership team and is primarily responsible for:
1) Partnering with the site Plant General Manager (GM) and leadership team to drive business strategy implementation, operational excellence and achievement of financial goals
2) Creating long-term vision and short-term goals for the site finance team. Leading and developing the team in line with organizational objectives
3) Embarking initiatives to strengthen financial and internal controls, driving balance sheet deep dive as well as implementing action plan to minimize financial exposure and control risks
Principal Responsibilities
Business Partnering, Planning and Performance Improvement
• Be a strong finance partner in the site leadership team. Collaborate with other functional leaders to achieve organizational objectives and work toward a collective vision for the site
• Oversee business planning cycles: the annual strategic plan (3-year long range plan), the annual planning process (for the following fiscal year) and the regular forecasting cycles
• Deliver financial insights (e.g., cost base, variance, savings, inventory, KPIs, etc.) and collaborate with functional leaders to achieve financial goals. Proactively take corrective action where appropriate
Team Management and Development
• Create long term vision for the site finance team and continuously to build a stronger team for the future
• Ensure succession planning in critical finance roles. Develop career plan for all finance team members
• Being a mentor and coach to the finance team. Assign stretch goals where appropriate and create an environment in which everyone can thrive
Financial Excellence and Modelling
• Drive continuous financial process improvement through the elimination of non value-added activities and automation of report/process. Release more team resources to support site strategic and tactic plan
• Promote data-fact driven culture in planning and decision makings. Demonstrated capability to synthesize large data and information from different sources into compelling arguments and actionable insights
• Develop financial KPI matrix and visualized dashboard (e.g., Power BI). Lead team to develop data analytic model and deep dive into potential exceptional areas and proactively implement action plan
• Transform progressively the team in planning and analytical capabilities – to foresight with robust predictive model and other modelling as needed. Lead team to implement “Flex Model” and cost optimization model for changes in volume/product mix and in various business scenarios
Transformation and Strategic & Ad-Hoc Projects
• Lead site finance work stream for SAP continuous improvement, promote cross-functional integration, continuous process improvement and automation
• Lead the improvement of an effective cycle counting and inventory management program for the site. Improve and standardize physical inventory management processes and minimize the financial exposure
• Lead finance work stream to support M&A integration for 2 BUs being acquired by InterSurgical Group
Financial Management / Reporting, Internal Control and Compliance
• Responsible for site’ accounting, costing, treasury, tax, monthly close process and balance sheet review
• Ensure the statutory accounts, tax and internal reporting are delivered timely in accordance with local statutory requirements and US GAAP
• Oversee internal control and US SOX compliance. Liaise with the Internal Audit team for annual audit plan and ensure audit recommendations are implemented with effective management action
• Ensure the implementation and maintenance, within the department, of an effective management for occupational safety and health consistent with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and other legislative requirements
Education / Experience Requirements
• Personal qualities of strong business ethical values, integrity and creditability

• 15+ years’ finance experience and at least 5 years in management position. Extensive exposure in MNC manufacturing environment as well as strong cost management and supply chain finance
• Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or a Professional Qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/ICAEW/MICPA or its equivalence)
• Finance leader with a forward-looking mindset. Strategic insight as well as hands-on accounting and financial management skills
• Logical mindset with demonstrated ability in both innovative and pragmatic approach in problem solving Sound professional judgment even in unstructured situation and ambiguity
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and impact key stakeholders effectively
• Proven track record of financial management, internal control and continuous process improvement
• Excellent project management skills to drive key financial transformation projects and initiatives
• Familiarity with both US GAAP and IFRS, SOX compliance as well as local accounting / tax obligations
• Practical experience of Lean Six Sigma/DMAIC approach in process improvement would be an advantage
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Process re-engineering experience
• Excellent MS Excel skills and track record of leading team in financial modelling development
• Data visualization and analytical skill. Exposure in one of the following analytic / BI tools is a big plus: Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, SPSS, Cognos, IDEA, SAS, Minitab, R & Python or any other similar tool
