Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities

Financial Modelling and Data Analytics
•    Being the financial modelling and data analysis champion of finance community in APAC.  Support the finance teams of each site to strengthen and transform the financial modelling and analytical capabilities – from hindsight to foresight with robust predictive model and other modelling as needed
•    Support respective site finance leaders and develop robust financial model in business decision makings, examples:
- New product development and portfolio expansion
- Change of product design
- Make vs Buy decision
- Product cost savings and optimizations 
- Other operational expansion and investment projects
•    Collaborate and work effectively with both finance and non-finance key stakeholders (examples R&D, commercial, engineering, production and etc.) to deliver financial insights (e.g., sensitivity analysis, scenario analysis and etc.) throughout the modelling cycle
•    Set up regional financial information database.  E.g., financial performance trend, operational results of each value streams, production outputs and hours, variance analysis and etc.  Synthesize large data and information from different sources into compelling arguments and actionable insights
•    Develop financial KPI matrix and visualized/digitalized dashboard. Collaborate with site finance leader to develop data analytic model and deep dive into potential exceptional areas and proactively recommend action plan to improve financial performance

Business Partnering, Planning & Forecasting and Performance Improvement
•    Support business planning cycles of each site in APAC:  the annual strategic plan (3-year long range plan), the annual planning process (for the following fiscal year) and the regular forecasting cycles
•    Proactive to deliver financial insights (e.g., cost base, variance, savings, inventory, KPIs, etc.) and collaborate with functional leaders to support financial goals achievements.  Recommend corrective action where appropriate to the Direct Supervisor, respective site finance and operational leaders if needed

Internal Control, Compliance and Process Improvement
•    Support the Direct Supervisor as well as respective site finance heads & management to assess the internal control of core business processes.  
•    Recommend effective preventive and detective controls in core business processes.  Support the site in control monitoring activities by developing robust data analytics model to proactively analyse risk landscape and strengthen risk governance procedures  
•    Participate in regular balance sheet review with site finance heads.  Provide insights of the review and ensure following up actions are in place of each site in APAC
•    Support site finance head in APAC in process improvement and standardisation from time to time and recommend point for improvement (purchase to pay, capital expenditure, inventory management, etc).  Lead and drive ad-hoc improvement projects if needed
•    Other ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned by the Direct Supervisor.  E.g., support SAP implementation project and other regional financial transformation projects

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Personal qualities of strong business ethical values, integrity and creditability

•    At least 8-10 years working experience. Extensive exposure in MNC manufacturing environment as well as strong product costing and operations finance
•    Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or a Professional Qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/ICAEW/MICPA or its equivalence)
•    Passion about data and visual analytic, with both innovative and pragmatic approach to implement data-fact based improvement plan, resolve unstructured business problem through analytics and ultimately improve business performance
•    Logical mindset with demonstrated ability in both innovative and pragmatic approach in problem solving Sound professional judgment even in unstructured situation and ambiguity
•    Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and impact both finance and non-finance key stakeholders effectively
•    Proven track record of financial management, internal control and continuous process improvement
•    Excellent project management skills to support financial modelling projects and initiatives
•    Familiarity with US GAAP and SOX compliance as well as local accounting obligations 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    SAP skills: FICO and its integration with other functional modules such as MM, PP and SD (QAD ERP experience is a plus)
•    Advanced MS Excel skills and track record in financial modelling development and its application in decision making (e.g., new product design and development, Make vs Buy and etc.)
•    Data visualization and analytical skill.  Exposure in one of the following analytic / BI tools is a big plus: Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, SPSS, Cognos, IDEA, SAS, Minitab, R & Python or any other similar tool
