Position Summary

Coordinates tool crib activities for manufacturing and engineering in regard to tool design, purchasing, inspection and maintenance.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Responsible for the preparation and issuance of tooling based on production schedule demand.
•    Conducts monthly inventory to maintain tooling quantities available for manufacturing use.
•    Monitors tooling movement to provide recommendations for excess tooling.
•    Maintains necessary records and documentation to show evidence of compliance to policy and procedures as required.
•    Day to Day manufacturing support (i.e., cleaning tooling, tooling inspection.)
•    Coordinates repair or replacement activities with the machine shop.
•    Works closely with production and engineering to ensure tooling is maintained in a ready state for use.
•    Works with supervisor to determine if new tooling should be procured internally or externally to best meet the needs of the department.
•    Completes purchasing requisitions for material and supplies to complete daily tasks.
•    Maintains inventory of perishable items for the manufacturing floor. (i.e. bolts, screens, brass tools. etc.)
•    Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred 
•    2+  years of manufacturing experience preferred

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. 
•    Ability to read drawings and blueprints, follow formulas, and read measurement instruments. Basic math skills.
•    Computer skills.  (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
•    Knowledge of extrusion – either through formal qualification or work-based learning 
•    Self starter with drive and enthusiasm for quality and improvement
•    Ability to work as part of an effective team
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Patience and attention to detail in cleaning/refurbishing tooling
