Principal Responsibilities
• Operates and adjusts machine/equip/cell to SOP as trained including packaging and labeling products.
• Understands and uses measuring equipment; calipers, micrometers, rulers, Instron, snap gages, ring gages, pins and other gauging following prescribed procedures to meet high quality specifications.
• Documents process data and parameters as required by MP/GMP
• Identifies when process is out of spec and recognizes when to notify Technician.
• Follow QA Procedures and Requirements
• Follows Safety Procedures & Manufacturing Procedures
• Understands the general and technical aspects of the job.
• Uses judgment in problem solving and troubleshooting problems.
• Operates a complex production line/cell.
• Helps others resolve basic issues on similar equipment
• Reviews process documentation, makes corrections and closes out job jackets
• Able to answer basic questions
• Ability to operate multiple complex production lines/cells.
• Sets up and operates multiple machines/lines/cells with virtually no assistance from Technicians
• Requires a high degree of initiative.
• Helps others resolve virtually all issues within normal operations
• Works under minimal supervision
• Trains new operators on all aspects of machine/cell/line operation
Education / Experience Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
• At least 3 years of manufacturing experience
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
Knowledge/Skills
• Basic Math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and assembly.
• Good interpersonal, communication and documentation skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of Extrusion processes and machine operations
• Technical experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
• Exposure to high production/output machinery and equipment, and constant noise in the production/plant environment.
• 10% Persistent Walking/Carrying
• 90% Sitting/Standing
• Must be able to avoid potentially moving objects which could cause injury
• Occasional use of stairs
• Consistent lifting: 2 - 20 lbs. necessary/ Max = 50 lbs
• Must be able to grasp and move objects consistently and regularly
• Must be able to reach, grasp, pull, push consistently
• Fine motor skills required
• All positions require the worker to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing data; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
• Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures
