Position Summary

Results-driven professional is dedicated to constant learning and training. We are looking for an experienced Polymer or Chemical Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for planning, designing, and completing projects in extrusion manufacturing utilizing six sigma/lean/DMAIC or like methodologies. The ideal candidate would have experience working with manufacturing equipment and processes to optimize production and increase capacity. Must have excellent equipment acumen, with the ability to be creative and troubleshoot when necessary. Technical aptitude, people-centric, and ability to help lead the PTFE and melt extrusion division to excellence.

Principal Responsibilities

●    Support extrusion operations and get actively involved in process troubleshooting.
●    Drive improvements in extrusion in a team environment.
●    Participate in the engineering aspects of customer needs.  This includes both root cause analysis and resolution of complaints and development of processes for new products.
●    Plan and coordinate the selection, procurement, installation, start-up, and qualification of new capital equipment, tooling, and fixtures for medical device manufacturing IQ/OQ/PQ. 
●    Implement and modify manufacturing task documents in coordination with process improvements and new equipment installations.
●    Develop and execute project plans in a fast-paced environment.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

●    Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics or Polymer Engineering or equivalent field required.
●    2-6 years of industrial experience required.
●    Proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks is preferred.
●    Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., FDA, ISO) is desirable.
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

●    Knowledge and background in polymer extrusion is desirable. 
●    Utilize technical knowledge to develop root-cause analyses and improvement plans.
●    Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills.
●    Constructively interface with, operations, engineering, maintenance and management.
●    Significant time will be spent on the manufacturing floor.  The interface with operations is critical.
●    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment to drive improvements.
●    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data analysis tools like Minitab.
●    Highly detail-oriented and capable of multitasking.
