Position Summary

The Associate Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical support and operating knowledge for our medical device operation. This person will take an important role in engineering functions such as validating and troubleshooting processes and identifying and implementing process improvements. The Associate Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to move pilot operations into production and support day to day production. The engineer will also be required to work with internal and external vendors to design and specify tooling/fixturing.  This position will focus on manufacturing and equipment improvement and implementation related to PTFE manufacturing.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Troubleshoot and validate processes on existing and new equipment
•    Identify and implement process improvements utilizing lean principles 
•    Create and update process documentation (SOP’s, BOMs, Specifications, Drawings, etc.)
•    Plan and complete Engineering assignments
•    Execute work according to local change management requirements (ECN)
•    Support senior level engineers on large scale projects.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Focus in Mechanical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering preferred.
•    Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO, FDA, etc.) preferred. 
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Competent in the use of SolidWorks to design mechanical components, tools and fixtures.
•    Able to troubleshoot, improve, and specify mechanical machinery.
•    Understanding of statistics and SPC.
•    Understands FDA guidelines Quality Standard Regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices. 
•    Good mechanical aptitude - able to understand equipment and how equipment operates. 
•    Ability to write technically in order to generate and execute validation documents.
•    Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
•    Good oral and written communication skills. 
•    Strong attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
•    Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
•    A passion for Lean Manufacturing practices and applying Lean skills to the production floor.
