Position Summary

Supports the quality assurance department in the areas of product and material inspection and testing, labeling controls and verification, and product documentation and release. Completes all work in compliance with GMP and ISO regulations within safety guidelines.
Performs a variety of quality control test and inspection functions on raw materials, components, and finished goods at various stages of the production process and compiles the data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Performs dimensional (destructive and non-destructive) testing and documentation per respective testing procedures or protocols on all incoming, production and validation materials for quality release activities.
  • Performs in-process inspection and testing at specified stages in production to verify the qualities such as dimensions and performance of suture materials.
  • Performs in-process inspection and testing at specified stages in production for data collection purpose.
  • Populates Certificate profile for Distribution Center in SAP.
  • Performs visual inspections and degradation testing on production lots as needed.
  • Performs any special type of testing identified per New Product Development or Specification Development per protocols. Ex - Time Studies, packaging inspection, pledget testing etc.
  • Maintain, Cleans and Stores test equipment properly and in calibrated status.
  • Performs quality control equipment calibrations and records the data as required.
  • Detects nonconformances during testing effectively.
  • Documents the identified non-compliances (product or process) via creation of nonconformances using (NC) process.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production procedures to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment and process capability.
  • Proficient with Good Documentation Practices.
  • Supports customer complaint investigation activities.
  • Provide other departmental support as requested by immediate supervisor.
  • Reviews Device History Records for accuracy per applicable procedure.
  • Performs inspection on labels printed for use.
  • Adheres to and ensure the compliance of Quality System, Teleflex’s Code of Conduct, all Company policies, safety rules, applicable procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Works mostly unsupervised.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a similar manufacturing testing/quality control environment preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in the medical device industry preferred.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with SAP and Minitab preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization required.
  • Accurate typing and data entry skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy.
