POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide engineering support to the manufacturing areas to ensure the production objectives of the facility are achieved, specifically for the molding and extrusion area.  

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide manufacturing engineering support to ensure that equipment and work processes are efficient.
  • Coordinate product transfers and generate all the Documentation required by the Quality system. This includes meeting user requirements, installing equipment, developing processes and validating and/or qualifying.
  • Coordinate the launch of new products and revalidation of existing processes.
  • Participate in the selection and evaluation of equipment designed to automate different aspects of manufacturing areas.
  • Participate in the selection of new equipment, which may include research and identification of equipment specifications, prepare and submit cost rationale, select direct and indirect materials, as well as create and review required documentation.
  • Coordinate the installation of new equipment that includes the elaboration of a scale design (layout) of the manufacturing room, establish utility requirements and the qualification of installation of equipment and launches.
  • Create required documentation for new products.
  • Initiate request for engineering changes to approve and review Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms and Templates for the Arrow Quality System and Process Documents, Tools and Product Drawings for Manufacturing Operations.
  • Initiate improvement projects for productivity and cost reduction.
  • Support in the determination of equipment and tool requirements
  • Troubleshoot, and coordinate improvements to existing products, manufacturing processes and equipment. Advise maintenance and manufacturing personnel to perform troubleshooting tasks.
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, all company policies, regulations, procedures and standards of cleanliness.
  • Contribute to the safety of personnel and the facility to prevent accidents and adhere to the Environmental and Safety Policy
  • Facilitate the Training of less experienced personnel.
  • Provides guidance, advice and mentoring for new hires and less experienced personnel.
  • Support Multi-Site and Remote Mentoring

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

•    Career in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanics preferably.
•    Master Molder II & Mold Design (Preferably) 

SPECIALIZED SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

•    Availability for Travel
•    Written and Spoken English
•    Two (2) years of experience in the field of engineering related to the manufacture of medical devices. 
•    Five (5) years of engineering experience, in specialized manufacturing facilities in the area   of plastic injection molding
•    Experience in personnel training and/or mentoring
