Interventional - The Interventional business unit at Teleflex offers innovative medical devices that are used to diagnose and treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. Position Summary

As part of the Interventional Business Unit’s R&D Design Development Team, this Principal Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, modification, prototyping, and testing of analog & digital systems to achieve product goals. The incumbent will estimate and plan own work products and will be responsible for deliverables within the Teleflex Design Control process.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Own the design and development of the electrical side of Teleflex’s life-saving medical device products.
•    Plan, organize, and execute assigned projects in the design and development of electrical modules for use in medical devices.
•    Evaluate current designs on an ongoing basis to provide constant improvement to existing products.
•    Work closely & effectively with a cross-functional team on the next generation of our intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) product.
•    Perform circuit analysis and optimization through characterization, modeling, and timing analysis.
•    Conduct risk and root cause analysis on product designs and issues.
•    Create design specifications and parameters in consideration of system & software architecture requirements.
•    Maintain product development documentation on components and system designs
•    Track industrial trends in applicable applications and technologies, including practices and engineering tools.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree or above in electrical, electronics, or computer engineering;
•    7+ years of hands-on experience in developing embedded systems, preferably in medical devices;

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Experienced with modern MCUs for digital controls, peripherals, board bring-up & debugging.
•    Experienced with schematic capture and PCB layout.
•    Experienced with data acquisition, EMC requirements, test methods & lab equipment. 
•    Demonstrated deep understanding of electronic circuit design theories and practices.
•    Working knowledge of IEC 60601-1 and other relevant standards.
•    Self-motivated with proven ability to work independently from objectives.
•    Advanced problem-solving & troubleshooting skills
