Position Summary

The Manufacturing Technician (Electro-Mech) will assemble, troubleshoot, and maintain electro­mechanical production systems, both manual and automated based on PLC and LabWindows / CVI platform. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Facilitate the acquisition of materials required for assembly and production support of equipment. Develop and update equipment documentation including assembly drawings, schematics, Bills of Material, and other documentation as needed to ensure equipment documentation is accurate. Perform validation of production systems and fixtures in support of the company's regulatory requirements. May be required to analyze processes for optimization and/or improvement. Assists production personnel, as required, in problem resolution on released manufacturing systems. Has no direct reports and generally receives work direction from the Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Troubleshoot production equipment hardware & software (includes PLC & Computer based systems)
•    Perform integration and assembly of capital equipment in support of manufacturing capacity.
•    Perform preventative maintenance.
•    Design tooling and fixtures for manufacturing by collaborating with the mechanical and electrical engineering teams.
•    Equipment programming and setup for manufacturing to ensure product specifications are met.
•    Systematic analysis of production processes for productivity enhancements. Follows through on implementation of improved tooling and training of personnel.
•    Assists in creating, modifying, and revising manufacturing work instructions and process flow documentation.
•    Performs other work-related duties as assigned. 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Associates degree or equivalent, in a technical discipline; preferably electrical or computer engineering.
•    Three to five years’ experience providing technical support in a manufacturing environment
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing of electro-mechanical discrete devices.
•    Must be familiar with basic assembly and test processes, including Hi-Pot & Functional Test.
•    Strong electro-mechanical skills, to include the reading and interpretation of schematics and mechanical engineering drawings.
•    Strong multi-tasking skills. Completes several concurrent tasks in an efficient and accurate manner.
•    Attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow up skills.
•    Proficiency in PLC & LabWindows / CVI software desired. LabView & TestStand Knowledge a plus.
•    Effective verbal and written communication skills.
•    Possess leadership skills and ability to be led in a manner that is healthy to our positive and productive work environment.
•    Experience working in fast pace, dynamic environment, with limited supervision: self-starter.
•    Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions.
•    Working knowledge of 5S/Lean basic concepts. (Standardize, Sort, Straighten, Shine. Sustain)
•    Familiarity with Solid Works preferred.
•    Team player with good interpersonal skills.
•    Certification in IPC soldering techniques a plus Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
