Position Summary

The Engineering intern will be responsible for working as a part of a team under the direction of a Manufacturing Engineer on the Operations team.  In that role, the engineering intern will perform various engineering tasks such as implementation, documentation, testing and acting as the interface with manufacturing engineering and quality engineering.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing assigned technical tasks in the manufacturing of medical devices
  • Basic Design and ability to evaluate specifications and drawings to evaluate process impacts
  • Implementation of deliverables for validation and verification activities
  • Documentation of testing activities and evaluation of that data to draw a conclusion with respect to specifications
  • Engineering Studies and testing
  • Technical Interface to other departments
  • Support manufacturing process development and improvement activities             
  • Work under the direction of other engineers (or another supervisor as assigned) through all production phases to help ensure product quality, manufacturability, reliability and cost effectiveness
  • Ensure that work product meets FDA and other Regulatory Standards as designated by company Policies and Design Control Procedures.
  • Keep track of industry trends in applicable applications and technologies, including practices and engineering tools.
  • Adhere to all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • High School or Vocational Student    

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Communication – clear -  written, and spoken in the English language
  • Self-motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated experience with computer applications
