Position Summary
The Enterprise Excellence Manager for the Chelmsford Manufacturing Site is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving operational transformation and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Leveraging expertise in Lean methodologies, business acumen, and situational leadership, the incumbent will lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-value results, aligning with Teleflex’s global priorities. This role focuses on implementing integrated Lean management systems, developing Lean leadership capabilities, and driving cost improvement initiatives to achieve measurable outcomes in safety, quality, service, and profitability. The manager will act as a transformational leader, ensuring the Chelmsford site exemplifies best-in-class operational excellence within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
Principal Responsibilities
Organizational Capability
• Cultivate a high-performance, inclusive team environment aligned with Teleflex values, fostering fairness, professionalism, and accountability.
• Develop individual and team capabilities through coaching and mentorship to build organizational bench strength and sustain long-term results.
Drive Site Transformation Strategy
• Lead the development and execution of the Chelmsford site’s transformation roadmap, aligning with regional and global Enterprise Excellence priorities.
• Collaborate with site leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure strategic initiatives drive operational performance and stakeholder engagement.
Implement Integrated Lean Management Systems
• Design and sustain Lean management systems, including Value Stream Mapping, Daily Management, and Plan-Do-Check-Act, to ensure consistent performance measurement and operational control.
• Establish processes and structures to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and support site objectives in manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Develop Lean Leadership
• Coach and train site leaders to embed Lean thinking and leadership behaviors, fostering a culture of respect, challenge, and continuous improvement.
• Deliver hands-on Lean training programs and workshops to enhance team capabilities at all levels.
Lead Cost Improvement Program (CIP)
• Spearhead the site’s CIP, identifying and prioritizing process and performance gaps to drive sustainable cost savings and margin improvement.
• Lead the integration of technology and automation initiatives to optimize resources while maintaining safety, quality, and service standards.
Foster Continuous Learning and Innovation
• Promote a culture of continuous learning by implementing best practices and encouraging innovation across the site.
• Coordinate maturity assessments for Enterprise Excellence and ensure timely implementation of recommendations to advance the site’s transformation plan.
Standardize Best Practices
• Actively promote and standardize leading best practices across Teleflex Global Operations, collaborating with regional and global teams.
• Work with key suppliers to adopt Lean practices, enhancing performance in cost, quality, and delivery.
Ensure Compliance and Safety
• Ensure all transformation activities adhere to the highest standards of safety, compliance (ISO 13485, FDA, GMP), and effectiveness in a regulated medical device environment.
Education / Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain, or operational excellence, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of leading Lean transformations, cost reduction initiatives, and large-scale change programs in a multi-site or global setting.
• Experience in medical device manufacturing or a regulated industry is highly desirable.
• Master Black Belt or equivalent Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Expertise in Lean tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Daily Management).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and influence skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong strategic and analytical thinking with a passion for continuous improvement and problem-solving.
• Ability to manage complex projects, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and measurable outcomes.
• Fluency in English; Spanish fluency is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international as required).
