Position Summary

Pro-actively works as a strategic partner to the business Units in scope, using a range of HR products and services, providing sound, pragmatic HR advice in a competent, efficient and timely manner. Takes a leadership role in implementing HR strategies to support Business, as proposed by Corporate and required by the Organization. Balances the needs of the business with the needs of the individual. Partners to the EMEA HR team management, acting as required by the EMEA HR director. Acts as a champion of Teleflex Core Values and demonstrates them through daily activities.

Principal Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following: 


BU Collaboration and support 
1.    Proactively works as a positive, hands-on member of the EMEA HR Team and acts as a strategic business partner to BU Leadership teams and the BU local management teams, providing advice, support and guidance.
2.    Works to identify organization, team and individual talent and development areas to ensure plans are in place to assure their progress.
3.    Provides HR competence, direction and mentoring to HR practitioners reports in a manner which is adding value to the collaboration of HR dept. with the business.
4.    Coaches team members on areas for development as appropriate.    
5.    Drives HR strategy assessing BU and organization needs, engages with teams and individuals to support them in achieving objectives related to the overall plans.
6.    Demonstrates through personal example behaviour that is consistent with the company’s policies and guidelines. Shows an approachable manner giving equal and objective support to all employees.
7.    Supports the EMEA HR strategy, proposing where necessary actions and initiatives leading to effective, prompt and successful results.
8.    Takes ownership and responsibilities for assigned tasks. 


Compensation and Benefits
1.    Manages ongoing evaluation of compensation and benefits data within defined strategy
2.    Develops solutions in conjunction with local and EMEA management to deal with areas of concern.


Employee Morale
1.    Takes advantage of all occasions, meetings and focus group discussions with managers and employees to develop an understanding of morale.  Drives solutions to issues and close out.
2.    Takes the lead with BU HR management, in collaboration with local HR managers to ensure that the working environment is good and that here is opportunities for team work and team building

 

Communication  
1.    Collaborates on all aspects of employee communication plans

 

Recruitment 
1.    Coordinates TA dept. actions in EMEA region, for assigned BU, assuring that the best tools and techniques to source candidates are at disposal of the organization.
2.    Ensures policies and procedures fit the organization culture, best practice and local legislation requirements.
3.    Where necessary, support local HR management to train hiring managers to be confident and competent when interviewing potential candidates, when involved in hiring processes.

 

General
1.    Responsible for the accurate and timely provision of HR data reporting from the relevant BU and/or assigned projects.
2.    Develops local networks of HR practitioners who can share and manage relevant market/best practice/legislative data. 
3.    Participate in BU/Executive level meetings and strategy sessions that guide the development of people, programs and technology.
4.    Ensure compliance within the areas of environment, health, safety and industry specific standards and all other Corporate policies matter.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

1.    HR and Business qualification with a minimum of 10 years of working within HR in a multi-national/multicultural environment. 
2.    Excellent employee relations and contracts of employment experience within a multinational environment - essential
3.    Attention to detail and accuracy – essential
4.    Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure
5.    Problem solving skills for developing creative solutions and meeting objectives are required.
6.    Skills that enable coordination of data, including MS-Office (primarily PowerPoint, Word, MD Project, Outlook and Excel); 
7.    Excellent analytical ability
8.    The ability to prioritize tasks and be able to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously; and the ability to interface with all levels of management.  
9.    English language full command (mother tongue level), other European languages will represent a plus

•    Travel within Europe and occasionally internationally - up to 25% of yearly working time
•    Able to work on own initiative and as a team player.
•    Good organizational skills with cultural awareness and sensitivity
•    Good judgment and problem-solving ability & is capable of understanding the impact of decision making on both Teleflex Medical and their customers.
