Position Summary
As an AI Data Scientist within the Enterprise Analytics team, you will be a key driver in transforming Teleflex into an AI-empowered organization. You will work at the intersection of data engineering, advanced analytics, and business strategy, supporting global functions including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Finance.
Your primary mission is to evolve our existing reporting ecosystem (Power BI/Tableau) by integrating Large Language Models (LLMs). You will build intelligent interfaces that allow stakeholders to interact with complex data via natural language, effectively "training" AI to navigate report trees and deliver instant, actionable insights.
Principal Responsibilities
• AI Integration: Design and deploy LLM-based solutions that allow users to query enterprise reports (Power BI/Tableau) using natural language.
• Predictive Modelling: Develop and maintain machine learning models to optimize global operations across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance.
• Advanced Analytics: Translate complex business problems into mathematical frameworks to drive efficiency in Procurement, Regulatory, and Quality functions.
• Insight Automation: Build "Drill-Through" AI logic that enables non-technical users to move from high-level KPIs to root-cause analysis via conversational interfaces.
• Data Storytelling: Create and enhance sophisticated dashboards in Power BI and Tableau, ensuring data integrity and user-centric design.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between the Enterprise Analytics team and global functional leads to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation.
• Facilitate quarterly standards review with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Build cascading meeting network (weekly service/monthly supply) to embed behaviours and sustain outcomes.
Education / Experience Requirements
• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in a specialized AI/Machine Learning discipline or an MBA with a heavy focus on Business Analytics.
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Technical Stack: Expert-level proficiency in Python (specifically libraries like Pandas, Scikit-learn, NLP and PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Generative AI: Proven experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and API integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models).
• Visualization: Advanced skills in Power BI and/or Tableau, including DAX or Tableau Calculation language.
• Functional Expertise: 3+ years of experience performing analytics within Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, or Commercial environments.
• Data Plumbing: Strong SQL skills and a deep understanding of data modelling.
• Nice to have: Prior experience with SAP (ERP) data structures is highly desirable.
• Excel Mastery: Ability to manipulate and validate data in Excel for rapid prototyping.
Key Relationships / Interfaces:
• Global Supply Chain
• Global Procurement
• Global Manufacturing
• Global Finance
Behaviours & Values:
• Curiosity: A natural drive to explore "why" a trend is happening, not just "what" the data shows.
• Pragmatism: A focus on building AI tools that solve real business problems, rather than just chasing "shiny" technology.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in the highly regulated environment of medical devices where data accuracy and quality are paramount.
• Collaborative Spirit: The ability to explain complex AI concepts to a Finance or Regulatory stakeholder without using jargon.
• Integrity: Commitment to ethical AI practices and data privacy.
